Refurbishment & interior fit-out
The Macbeth is an existing music venue and bar in Soho with residential use on the first and second floors. There is a first floor outdoor terrace with a use license associated with the bar downstairs, but poor access and noise control issues. As part of their revised business plan, the client is looking to completely renovate the property and upgrade the fabric as necessary to meet with current legislation in keeping with the proposed use.
The brief includes a ground floor microbrewery, bar and restaurant area that makes efficient use of the space, showing off the existing ‘Macbeth’ mural, with carefully planned ‘zones’ to create unique atmospheres.
We propose to locate the new bar at the back of the room, reinstating the rooflight to the terrace above with pyramid glazing for natural light, and provide public wc facilities for customers downstairs in the basement.
A kitchen area for food prep and 9 ensuite guest bedrooms will be situated on the first and second floors. The reception for the overnight accommodation will be combined with the bar area, and a separate entrance will allow customers to securely come and go without walking through the public area.
